The City of White Rock has partnered with St. John Ambulance with the installation of a publicly accessible, life-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) stand at Centennial Park. The stand includes an AED unit, a naloxone kit, and a first aid kit for bystanders to use when someone is experiencing a medical emergency.
The AED stand provides essential tools to the public in the event someone experiences a medical emergency. The new AED stands is located at the southwest corner of the Centennial Park sports courts at Anderson Street and Vine Avenue.
Residents attended a training session on May 23, facilitated by St. John Ambulance, that went over the contents of the stand and participants were able to train and ask any questions. Watch a video on how to use an AED unit.
The installation is part of St. John Ambulance’s Start Me Up BC program, which aims to provide public access to lifesaving materials like AEDs and first aid supplies.
