White Rock Fire Rescue has a message for parents: Don’t let your teens have fires on the beach!
This is after four separate fires were started on the beach overnight April 16.
Firefighters need to be on standby for genuine emergencies right now, says Fire Chief Phil Lemire. Firefighters need to keep physically distant from people for their safety.
Responding to groups of people starting fires on the beach also takes resources away from critical matters. If you detect a fire, or have another emergency, call 911. For more about White Rock Fire Rescue, visit whiterockcity.ca/fire.
We are all in this together. Let’s stay apart so we can reduce the spread of COVID-19.
