The City of White Rock joins Britain and the rest of the world in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history and Canada's head of state.
“On behalf of City Council and the residents of White Rock, I would like to express my condolences to the royal family at their time of loss. Her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, lived a truly remarkable life of service,” said City of White Rock Mayor, Darryl Walker. “She led with dignity and grace and has left behind a profound legacy of commitment to her country and to people across the globe.”
City Hall flags will fly at half-mast and the lights at the White Rock Pier will be lit royal blue in recognition of the loss. White Rock citizens wishing to express condolences can do so online via Canada.ca or can sign a book of condolences in person at Kent Street Activity Centre (1475 Kent Street).
