The Government of British Columbia, through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, awarded the City of White Rock with a $1-million grant that will help repair waterfront infrastructure from storm damage along the promenade and White Rock Pier.
The December 20, 2018 windstorm devastated the City’s waterfront. Along with the destruction of White Rock’s iconic Pier, parts of the promenade and the shoreline at East Beach were destroyed by over 500 tons of logs and debris.
The City of White Rock is grateful for the provincial grant to help us reconstruct the waterfront and Pier and protect the shoreline from the impacts of climate change.
Further information on the announcement can be found on the News Release from the Government of British Columbia, “Iconic White Rock pier repairs to receive provincial support”.
