Free Skating at Centennial Arena
The City of White Rock is hosting a free Family Skate on Monday, February 21 at Centennial Arena, made possible thanks to the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.
Two skating sessions are available at 10 to 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. No skates? No problem. Skates and helmet rentals are included.
Pre-booking is required, no drop-ins are permitted. Sign up online at whiterockcity.ca/register or call 604-541-2199, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All participants 12 years and older must show proof of vaccination. Masks are required for all participants 5 years or older.
Walk the White Rock Waterfront
White Rock’s promenade runs almost the entire length of the beach - walk the 2 kilometre long promenade from East to West beach and enjoy the views of our beautiful City by the Sea. Along your walk, you’ll see public art, Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles Plaza, the White Rock, and the White Rock Pier. Stop and take a photo and share your photos with #MyCityByTheSea.
Discover Local Art at the Landmark Pop-Uptown Gallery
Come check out the new show at the Landmark Pop-Uptown Art Gallery and experience a display of photographs by local artists and photographers. More Than The Eye Can See - A Display of Photographs is on from Feb. 3 to Feb. 26. Visit the gallery Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

White Rock is filled with public art displays, from sculptures to murals. View the public art map on your phone and enjoy a walking tour around the City in Uptown or by the Waterfront. White Rock's public art helps us learn more about local history and reflects the City’s culture. The curated collection is perfect for snapping a photo to post on social media with #WhiteRockBC.
Family Day at the White Rock Museum and Archives
In celebration of Family Day, the White Rock Museum & Archives are pleased to host a reading of the charming book “What the Seal Saw” a fun rhyming story featuring beautiful illustrations of iconic White Rock. Author Sherry McMillan and illustrator Carla Maskall will be onsite outdoors on the Museum Plaza on Monday, February 21 from 12 – 3 p.m. to share the story, colour pictures, and receive a keepsake bookmark.
Visit the White Rock Library
The White Rock Library has an indoor bird watching scavenger hunt – find all the birds and visit the front desk for a sweet treat. Once you have completed the scavenger hunt, observe the White Rock Library Art Wall, featuring enchanting oil paintings of the White Rock Waterfront by local artist Coco Tan.
A fun activity for Family Day weekend – the White Rock Library is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19 and located at 15342 Buena Vista Ave. Please note, the library will be closed Sunday, Feb 20 - Monday, Feb. 21. Regular hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
Visit Generations Playground
Located at Ruth Johnson Park, the Generations Playground is an all ages, all abilities playground featuring slides, zip lines, outdoor fitness equipment, music learning station, and more. This popular playground has activities for all ages and is open every day from dawn until dusk located at 14600 North Bluff Road.
Play Tennis or Pickleball Over Family Day Weekend
Pick up your tennis or pickleball racquet and start a game at the courts at Centennial Park (14600 North Bluff Rd). The courts are open from dawn until dusk, seven days a week.
Dogs in White Rock
Your pooch is part of your family – take them to the off-leash dog park located in Ruth Johnson Park (14600 North Bluff Road), or take them for an on-leash stroll along the White Rock Promenade. Dogs are allowed on the White Rock Promenade until March 31.
