City crews will be flushing dead end water mains between August 28 and September 1, 2023 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The City of White Rock’s Water Main Flushing Program maintains the City's water system. Dead end water mains occur at the end of a pipe when it does not loop back into the system. As these water mains have very low flows it is important to flush these out multiple times per year, which will improve water quality and prevent future water quality issues.
As a result of water main flushing, residents may notice temporary changes in water pressure. While some discolouration or sediment in the water may occur, it is a temporary condition and is not a health hazard. Residents will have water during the flushing operations; however, they are advised to not open their taps when crews are working in your area to avoid drawing sediments into their pipes. Please look for City signage in your area, as that will indicate flushing is taking place on your street.
