The White Rock RCMP want to remind residents of the City of White Rock, to be aware of scams and frauds. Recently there have been calls to residents regarding water filtration systems available to purchase. While aggressive sales techniques are not illegal, red flags to watch out for are:
- They claim your drinking water is polluted, contaminated or unhealthy
- They promise no maintenance, all filtration devices require some maintenance, even routine filter changes
- You’ve won a prize but you haven’t entered a contest
If you receive a call like this, please hang up, and do not provide any personal information. If you have been a victim of a scam or a fraud, report it to the White Rock RCMP non-emergency line at 778-593-3600.
